Puddle Jumping by Amber L. Johnson

A short, sweet read that packs one hell of a gut-wrenching punch! Where are a hundred stars when you need ‘em?

Time and time again, I’ve always said how much I love books about characters with disabilities. And no, I don’t mean that sadistically. As an occupational therapist by profession (well, soon anyway – graduating this June!), these stories already have a place reserved in my bookish heart.

Rating: More than 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
When it comes to love there’s no such thing as conventional.

Everyone thinks Colton Neely is special.

Lilly Evans just thinks he’s fascinating.

Once friends when they were younger, their bond is cut short due to her accident prone nature and they go their separate ways. Years later, they meet again and Lilly learns that there is something special about the boy she once knew, but she has no idea what it all means. And she’s not sure if she’s ready to find out.

When he walks through the corridor of her school the first day of her senior year, she knows that it’s time to get to know the real Colton Neely. The more she learns, the deeper she falls.

Their friendship grows into love, even as Colton does not express it in words. But one decision threatens to break down the world that Lilly has tried so hard to integrate into and she must figure out if the relationship can survive if they are apart.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare

First of all, thank you to Cassandra Clare for bringing the world of Shadowhunters to life. The bookworm in me would not be the same without this series and she just continues to fuel my love for this world she created.

My heart is full to bursting. I can’t even begin to explain how I’m feeling right now. Of course, reading the last book in a series you’ve followed and loved for a long while brings with it a certain degree of longing. I really have trouble believing that this is the end of the road for these amazing characters that I’ve grown to love so much. There’s still The Dark Artifices but it won’t be the same. I’m sure there’ll be a new set of characters we’ll learn to know and love but this gang? They will hold a special place in my bookworm heart.

A bittersweet 5 out of 5 stars.

Synopsis:
ΕRCHOMAI, SEBASTIAN HAD SAID.

I am coming.

Darkness returns to the Shadowhunter world. As their society falls apart around them, Clary, Jace, Simon and their friends must band together to fight the greatest evil the Nephilim have ever faced: Clary’s own brother. Nothing in the world can defeat him — must they journey to another world to find the chance?

*Ebook provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

If you’ve been following my reviews, then you probably know how much I love bad boys. If you’re a new reader, then now you know. So, it’s really not that surprising that Anne Pfeffer’s GIRLS LOVE TRAVIS WALKER easily wormed its way into my heart.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
To nineteen-year-old high school dropout Travis Walker, women are like snowflakes--each one different, but beautiful in her own way. He can charm any girl he meets, and yet down deep he fears he'll always be a loser like his jailbird father. As the landlady threatens to evict him and his sick mother, Travis takes a job he hates and spends his evenings picking up girls at a nearby night spot. When he enlists in a teen program at the local fire station, he finds out he’s amazing at it. Then he meets the smoking hot Kat Summers, enlists Kat’s friend Zoey to help him woo her, and falls in love for the first time ever. But he keeps the details of his life secret. His girl will never love him back if she knows the truth about him….

More Than This (More #1) by Jay McLean

I feel very conflicted about this book. On one hand, I think there’s a lot of promise for the rest of the series. I mean, there’s something really beautiful about the storyline. On the other hand, I can’t get over the insta-love (and not in a good way) and the naïveté of the characters.

I’m giving More Than This 3 out of 5 stars.

Blurb:
*Mikayla*
In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

*Jake*
One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling.

Ebook provided in exchange for an honest review

Pamela DuMond’s The Story of You and Me could have been one of those heart-gripping romances, the kind that drive readers to the brink of a bawling, teary mess. I am a big fan of devastatingly heartbreaking romances and so when I read the blurb for The Story of You and Me, I went into it with expectations of a sobfest in my near future.

Overall, I really liked The Story of You and Me. It just did not move me as much as I thought it would so I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Blurb:
Recommended for New Adult and Mature Young Adult Readers:
She's driven to save her life. He's haunted by breaking one. Some secrets are risky to share. But nothing's more powerful than falling in love... Nineteen-year-old Sophie has the kind of hope that makes her do weird things—like leave her family and friends behind in her small hometown and travel thousands of miles to a strange city—Los Angeles. She didn’t plan on getting into the middle of a bar fight on the USCLA campus her first night in town. She didn’t want to be rescued by twenty-one-year-old Alejandro, the hottest guy she’s ever met. She has no time to fall for a guy because her stakes are high—life and death. Sophie’s starting a promising, experimental USCLA Medical study that could heal her debilitating disease. But California’s filled with all kinds of alternative healers offering medical miracles. When she ventures on her own to find them, she quickly discovers that L.A.’s a tough city, with bad guys more than happy to take advantage of her. She hires Alejandro to be her driver and her bodyguard. Their journeys take them to sunny beaches, dicey ghettos, campus hang-outs, gang-infested hoods and celebrity parties. And she learns that healing doesn’t always come the way you think you need it. Sophie’s healing is six-foot-two-inches tall, has stunning hazel eyes, black, shiny hair and a rock solid chest that shelters her. Her healing is a smart, gorgeous Alpha Boy with a killer sense of humor—Alejandro. As they fall in love, she realizes Alejandro isn’t your typical college party boy—he has a dangerous past. And Sophie isn’t the only one who keeps secrets. A Story of Hope. A Story of Love. A Story of Redemption. (HEA for Sophie and Alejandro.)

Greed (The Seven Deadly #2) by Fisher Amelie

If you liked Sophie Price in VAIN, then you're gonna adore Spencer Blackwell here in GREED. 5 out of 5 stars! Check out the blurb right here and read on for the rest of the review:
Gather ‘round, love, because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don’t have, I want more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it’s every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what’s mine and I take what’s yours…because that’s what I do. I want.

My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I’m in this for the money and nothing else. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I’m every man’s worst nightmare and every girl’s fantasy.

I’m Spencer Blackwell…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
