City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare

First of all, thank you to Cassandra Clare for bringing the world of Shadowhunters to life. The bookworm in me would not be the same without this series and she just continues to fuel my love for this world she created.

My heart is full to bursting. I can’t even begin to explain how I’m feeling right now. Of course, reading the last book in a series you’ve followed and loved for a long while brings with it a certain degree of longing. I really have trouble believing that this is the end of the road for these amazing characters that I’ve grown to love so much. There’s still The Dark Artifices but it won’t be the same. I’m sure there’ll be a new set of characters we’ll learn to know and love but this gang? They will hold a special place in my bookworm heart.

A bittersweet 5 out of 5 stars.

Synopsis:
ΕRCHOMAI, SEBASTIAN HAD SAID.

I am coming.

Darkness returns to the Shadowhunter world. As their society falls apart around them, Clary, Jace, Simon and their friends must band together to fight the greatest evil the Nephilim have ever faced: Clary’s own brother. Nothing in the world can defeat him — must they journey to another world to find the chance?

*ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

Cora Carmack would win the Super Bowl of NA contemporary romance with her novel, ALL LINED UP, the first in her Rusk University series. She's right. Texas football is a world in and of itself. Coming from somewhere that reveres basketball, I don't really know much about football (try none). I don’t understand a thing about the sport so I never really had the inclination to read about books revolving around it. But damn if I didn’t totally fall in love with this book. It was really fascinating, to say the least. Reading All Lined Up felt like being transferred to an alternate dimension, one that I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

First of all, I’ll try my best to not give MUCH of the plot away since this book has a bit of a suspense/thriller vibe going for it.

See Through Me by Sera bright left me with mixed feelings. I must admit though that it was a book that I DEVOURED in one sitting. Straight. No Breaks. It was just THAT engrossing. However, the whole book felt like one giant build up shooting for an explosive climax and then missing the target.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
There's only one person Katie Flynn wants to see when she returns home. But she knows he won't be waiting for her. It's the reason she feels safe enough to finally come back.

She's wrong.

Ash Townsend isn't the same quiet boy from next door. He's tall, dark and demanding answers. He wants her, but he doesn't trust her. Who can blame him? When his own family tried to break him down, he still sheltered her in a town full of liars. And she repaid it by leaving him behind without a word.

Because she'll do anything to protect him. She has the scars on her wrist to prove it.

Contains strong language, explicit sexual situations, and mature themes. This novel is not intended for readers under the age of 18. First in a 2-part series.

Nowhere But Here by Renee Carlino
I didn’t know I could fall even more in love with Renee Carlino’s books. But I just did. I fell in love with the story right from the very first page and I'm not exaggerating. Once I got started, I couldn't put it down!

NOWHERE BUT HERE is an undeniably beautiful love story. Wait, let me amend that. I think it would be more appropriate to call it a story about love rather than just a mere love story. It burrowed into my heart and I don’t think I ever want to let go of the feelings this book evoked in me. I know I sound like a sap right now so bear with me and my review for a few minutes ;)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
A Chicago reporter in her mid-twenties unexpectedly finds love in Napa Valley when she’s assigned to spend a week with a famously reclusive genius.

Kate Corbin has lost her spark. From the outside, her life seems charmed. She has a handsome, long-term boyfriend and a budding journalism career at a popular Chicago newspaper. But in reality, her relationship is going nowhere, and she’s quickly losing motivation for what she once believed was her dream job. When her boyfriend dumps her unceremoniously, Kate loses all hope of finding love.

With no living family and few friends, Kate confides in her boss. Trusting that the hungry, ace reporter is buried somewhere deep inside, he gives Kate the opportunity to jumpstart her career. The assignment: to interview the famously reclusive R.J. Lawson, a wealthy tech genius who disappeared years ago but recently reemerged as a Napa Valley vintner. The week takes an unexpected turn, however, when Lawson refuses to divulge any information. Desperate for a lead, Kate turns to Jamie, a vineyard hand who shows her the romance of wine country—and stirs her aching heart. But his connection to Lawson is ambiguous, and when Jamie disappears before the end of the week, Kate is left to investigate another story: the truth behind the man who stole her heart.

USA TODAY bestselling author Renée Carlino explored love and heartbreak in her beautifully written debut Sweet Thing, and her newest novel does not disappoint. For fans of Colleen Hoover, K.A. Tucker, and Katja Millay, Nowhere But Here is a stirring and satisfying romance that you won’t want to put down.

Seductive Chaos book cover
*Ebook provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I’ve read the first two books (Bad Rep and Perfect Regret) in this series and I can’t help but compare the three. I thought Bad Rep was okay and I LOVED Perfect Regret. SEDUCTIVE CHAOS falls somewhere between the two. There were aspects that I liked about it and some that I don’t. Which is only natural, I guess. But all in all, I thought SEDUCTIVE CHAOS was a great addition to this series.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
Cole Brandt was the self-centered and philandering lead singer for Generation Rejects

Vivian Baily was a flaky, attention seeking drama queen.

Apart they were challenging…together they were complete and total chaos.

Cole and Vivian were two people who should never have been together.

Yet they crashed into each other at every turn.

Their relationship was anything but stable. But it was passionate. It was messy. It was hopelessly seductive. And it might possibly drive them both insane.

They fought. They made up. They screamed. They made love.

They hated and they loved in equal measure.

And now that Generation Rejects are starting to hit it big and the band is on the road, temptation and massive egos could very well spell the end of their roller coaster.

If only they could stay away from each other.

But Vivian has finally reached her breaking point. Tired of their endless cycle, she is ready to say goodbye to Cole for good.

Yet Cole isn’t one to go away quietly. Particularly when he is starting to realize exactly what he stands to lose if Vivian walks away.

As his world begins to turn upside down, Cole realizes that the one person who can hold him together is the girl who may no longer want him.

Love can be a comedy of errors, particularly for two people who never seem to get the timing right.

And In the crazy world of rock and roll, the hardest lessons to learn just might be the ones with the sweetest rewards
