Puddle Jumping by Amber L. Johnson

A short, sweet read that packs one hell of a gut-wrenching punch! Where are a hundred stars when you need ‘em?

Time and time again, I’ve always said how much I love books about characters with disabilities. And no, I don’t mean that sadistically. As an occupational therapist by profession (well, soon anyway – graduating this June!), these stories already have a place reserved in my bookish heart.

Rating: More than 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
When it comes to love there’s no such thing as conventional.

Everyone thinks Colton Neely is special.

Lilly Evans just thinks he’s fascinating.

Once friends when they were younger, their bond is cut short due to her accident prone nature and they go their separate ways. Years later, they meet again and Lilly learns that there is something special about the boy she once knew, but she has no idea what it all means. And she’s not sure if she’s ready to find out.

When he walks through the corridor of her school the first day of her senior year, she knows that it’s time to get to know the real Colton Neely. The more she learns, the deeper she falls.

Their friendship grows into love, even as Colton does not express it in words. But one decision threatens to break down the world that Lilly has tried so hard to integrate into and she must figure out if the relationship can survive if they are apart.

Rachel van Dyken is a writing goddess. I mean it. I think she just outdid herself with ELICIT.  Considering how amazing ELICIT was, there is no question that RvD keeps doing better and better with each release. Elicit, in my opinion, is waaaaay up there as one of the best she’s ever written. And now, I’m going to try to write this review without giving anything away, which is going to be difficult because many things will happen in ELICIT that will blow your mind. No kidding.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

Synopsis:
Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

** Spoilers for Book 1 and 2 ahead**

I love novellas. Want to know what I love MORE than novellas? A CRANBERRY INN novella, that’s what! Room for Just a Little Bit More (RFJALBM) is a very worthwhile addition to this addicting series from Beth Ehemann. If you’ve read the first two books (Room for You and Room for More) then you’ll definitely enjoy reading what happens next to Kacie, Brody, and the Twinkies.

Rating: 5 out of 5 twinkie stars!

Synopsis:
Five years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant.

One year ago, a horrible rainstorm flooded a bridge in town, leaving us with an Inn full of stranded travelers. Turns out one of those travelers would give me a whole new set of dreams, ones I never thought possible. Brody Murphy spent the last year teaching me what it was like to live, and more importantly love, again.

Two days ago, he asked me to marry him, and if I’d said yes any faster, I would have interrupted the most romantic proposal ever offered. I can’t wait to marry him and spend the rest of our lives spoiling our Twinkies.

One year from now I’ll be Mrs. Kacie Murphy, assuming everything goes nice and smooth.
